Blue Linckia Starfish Help

Hi, I bought a Blue Linckia earlier today.
I acclimated it for about 3-4 hours, got the salinity and everything the same.

He seems to be doing fine.

Throughout the whole process I was sure not to let him hit air, but now he's climbing around the tank, and at times has his "legs/arms" out of the water.

Is this a big deal?
Should I move him down to the sand and rocks, or just leave him alone?

By not touching air, does it mean the center?

This is what he's doing...
Going up to the top of the glass and kind of hanging out the water. I have glass tops over 90%

There is no problem whatsoever with sea stars touching air. I don't know why this myth won't just go away.

I've never understood this as well. I've taken numerous stars out of the water problem free but every LFS always emphasizes to never expose them to air yet they fail to mention that proper acclimation is critical.

It's just a LFS continued myth. With that don't take it out and hold it or play with it (stress to animal).

Sounds like your star is doing great moving around and 'checking' things out.

If your star was stationary or falling/peeling off the glass (by itself), very good odds that it is doomed.

Aside from getting a healthy star, slow acclimation is the key.
