hey there a friend of mine has asked me to help him with cleaning up his pump.my question is has anyone done this before or point me to somewhere to see more info on the pump I would like to clean it but do I need to order any seals or parts before I take it apart , I have looked on youtube and chked the search on this site but not much info unless I missed it somewhere .I don't have the pump in front of me so I just want to be prepared as he does not have a spare just in case something goes wrong

I've cleaned out many BL/CoraLife Turbo-Sea pumps. Nothing to it really.

Here's a 3D schematic so you have an idea of what it's going to be like after you remove the bolts. It shows a barbed fitting volute instead of a threaded.

The only place of water leakage is the o-ring that seals the volute halves. If it's the first time it's been taken apart, then no problem. Just make sure that when you put it back together that the o-ring is seated properly in the grooves and there is no "grit". A bit of silicone grease will help keep it "soft" over the years.

Tighten the bolts as you would put the lug nut back on a tire. After they are "snugged up" no more than 3/4-full turn.
