had some before in a 55

had some before in a 55

Had some before in 55gal. housed with pairs of Blood red, skunk and dancing shrimp..

Had them trained to be hand fed.. but after a while got real predetory. Ambushed a bunch of the other shrimp while they were molting. and would launch at some fish when hungry..

got rid of them and traded to LFS. Nice coloration though.

thanks delsol for your input.

yeah there absolutely beautiful. i have them in a dedicated system of there own. i figure it they get big i will just eat them :)

I have heard that they are good eats. I myself own a Purple Lobster, haven't heard if they taste good or not. Think I will eat my Maxi Clam though...lol

had one that started at 1.5 inches and grew to be a destructive clam eating, coral moving rock tumbling monster of just 3 inches. They are opportunistic feeders that will go after what is available. If you have a reef system, I wouldn't keep it, if a FOWLR, then meaty chunks of marine animals when the lights are off.

thanks, i have two that are about 1.5 inches also. they are in a fowler type system.

i tried givign them mysis but it was only a couple days after acclimation and they did not touch it. but i have a few snails in so..
thanks again

I've had mine for about 2 months or so now and I have had no problems feeding it. I basically just feed the tank mysis, plankton, or whatever I am feeding the tank and it pretty much just eats that. No problems with rock moving, but he sure is active and runs around the tank all day long from side to side, top to bottom.

Update, my blue lobster just ate my cleaner shrimp. Grrrrr. I think I am going to wait until he gets too big them adios to him so I can put cleaner shrimp back in my tank.
