Blue Morpho Looks Odd

Hey guys, my juvenile blue morpho is lumpy looking. He seems to not have a sleak shape to him at all, but is instead bulgy. I have a horrid cam, so pics are challenging. Does anyone have any ideas if this is normal or if this is something to be concerned with?

I am feeding brine cubes one day and then PE Mysis the next. The Mysis seems so large, that I need to break the brine in to make it easier for them. I gues PE Mysis is supposed to be an amzing brand used by most public aquariums...

When I feed him pellet food he fights the other fish for food...same with algae....you hang a chunck of dried algae out and he tears it like a pirrahna...you can look at his side after he gets done eating and see bumps from all the pellets on his side....

AHH. Good to know. Maybe since he is so small that is what I am seeing. I do have some seaweed I could hang in there just for good measure. Perhaps I will do that. I really want to ensure that he is happy and healthy.

Tangs are predominately herbivores. You definitely need to supplement the pellets with plant material. You can purchase sheets of nori at most fish stores or you can buy a years supply for very cheap at the grocery store in the Asian food section.

My brighter lighting has just kicked on and he seems to have small white spots all over. I am now certain he is plagued by something. If he is ill, what is my next step? He came from a copper tank at aquatic tech, so I am sure this is induced by me.

I will anxiously await your answers... anyone want to buy my set up?

White spots generally mean ich. Not good. Without pics its hard to give a definite answer but white spots are one of the surest signs of ich. No wonder it was in a copper tank, they probably knew about it and were trying to cure it. You need to QT the fish and watch the rest. Good luck.

It's marine ich.....do you have a cleaner shrimp?
You need to let nature run it's course....get some garlic pellets...and some garlic laced seaweed sheets....the garlic boost their immune system to fight off the ich....did you just get him recently? If you did, chances are that he is just a bit stressed....common for hippos...

And no I do not have a cleaner shrimp... oy. Perhaps I should go get one. My QT tank is at a higher salinity than my main tank. I should try to get them equal I assume. I can work on that today. What else to I need in a qt tank?

Soak some pellets in it and feed it to the tank....he's just stressed....no fault of your own...i went thru the exact same thing...

Go get a couple cleaner shrimp....the tang will go to them to have the parasites picked off of them....sometimes they knock them off during the day and go back to sleep in the same spot and they jump back on....do you have a some sort of uv on your tank? I bought a uv built into a powerhead and it works good for killing parasites and one celled algae..

I do not have a UV... I will research this and if anyone is selling on hit me up. I will go on a cleaner shrimp run this evening. Does anyone know if they are compatible with my current stock list? List is on my website
