Blue mushroom problem

I have a blue mushroom that I got about 3 months ago that isnt doing so well. When I first got it, the guy at the fish store said place it lower in my tank with low light and low flow. I have a 90 gallon with 2x250w MH. I placed the mushroom close to the bottom of the tank on a rock ledge and it did awesome for about a month and a half at one time it was opening to about 2.5 inches in diameter. Then one day my snail knocked it off its ledge the mushroom got ****ed and started to float around and look for a new home. Every since then it has never looked as good or opened as much its about in the same place and attached to a rock but it wont open fully about and inch in diameter and its color isnt as good? Did I do something wrong or is it just being a mushroom?

SAD very sad,,, If it has reattached, try and move it to some more light, they can get moody for long periods, but are very hardy to, also, check water conditions,

It has reatached to a rock and I havent moved it because it has been to mad. The water is in good shape 0 on all I dont know what my calcium is because I dont have a test kit yet but that shouldnt matter for the mushroom. Do mushrooms need any suplaments

not that I have used in my tanks, other than adding iodine and seacems REEF plus, be sure to check your Alk levels, that will throw softies in a tale spin, I have had schroom sit for months not looking happy, blues, that I have do seem more tempramental than the rest. Try a 30% water change. It always perks mine up

I have blue shrooms I keep under PC lights and they do awesome. Those things are nearly indestructable, but at the same time I have had many diff corals do very similar to what you describe. I had a toadstool shrivel up for 6months before it came back to life after a stressful incident. I would say just keep your tank in order and be patient very patient.
