Blue ribbon eel help

Well the eel hasn't eaten since i put it in the display, so yesterday i spent a hour watching it and i don't think it like the flow of the MP40 and the return pump blasting just wasn't interested in food at all.. so i took about getting the PVC coated in gravel using silicon.. here is the 1st attempted

put this in after about 10min the eel went in so i tried to feed and it took within 30 seconds !!! next stage is to cover this in coral to make it look nice and move into the middle of the tank.. anyone getting one of these needs to seriously look at getting PVC pipe work in !!

HI all its been a while now so thought id update you, as you know i have got this feeding now and all has been ok for around 6months now :)

about 3 weeks ago the eel started to slow down on its feeding not taking very much say only 1 fish every 3 days or so which was strange so i kept i eye on it, turned out its was starting to change blue :)

im just wondering if its normal for fish to go off food when there changing sex ?
half of it is blue and the other half is a off blue but now it is only taken one frozen fish once a week now as it would take 2/3 fish every other day before

here is a pick

any ideas what i should try or should i not worry until its changed ?

i know i'm late.....only a tiny bit late but ive have a ribbon eel in my 25G nano reef for about half a year with a mantis shrimp, 2 fijian damsels, 2 clowns (Paired) and a orange coris wrasse. I also had a tang and bicolour angel but i sold it.

i remember the first day i bought the eel. it was same day as the mantis shrimp. now this is gonna sound really weird for a mantis and eel and i will post pics if requested but for some reason i bought them together and they are like best friends now. i have read so much on white ribbon eels and mantis shrimps i was certain that they would have killed eachother however i bought them anyway. it is a small tank...25G is nothing so i was expecting casualties off the bat straight away but to my suprise for some reason...that only god knows my mantis does not touch a single thing in the tank apart from the specific feeder crabs i give him every other day from out local river. there are hermits in the tank, snails, the ribbon eels head is the same size as the mantis' smasher yet it doesn't attack it, they even share a den together, YES! u heard me. he also has a good relationship with the damsels and often commute with them, the damsel will flick his tail in the mantis' face when play times over and it just goes back into its burrow alongside the eel. i hand feed my ribbon long thing prawns cut into strips. i give it long peices because its good for their neck muscles when they try devouring something that it long. i can even hand feed him. the eel has never tried to escape the tank. not even once. and i purposely left the lid open just to see. he's about 30cm long and never tried to escape. bottom line is, alot of the stuff u read on here is overhyped bs by people looking to cause a little commotion over nothing. :) happy reefing
