Blue snowflake anthelia changed color

I have a small frag of blue snowflake anthelia that I mounted on a rock. Over the past month it has grown out pretty good away from the original frag, but I've notice the new growth is more violet than blue. Is this a common occurrence?

I would say yes Lots of things change color when you get them in your tank because of lights and parameters.

I just found it odd the original portion is still blue, just all the new growth is violet.
