Blue spot stingray

Does anyone have any tips on keeping a blue spot stingray? My wife brought one home and havent read very good things about their survival in captivity.

Do you have a Blue Spotted Ray or a Blue Spotted Ribbontail Ray? The ribbontail is the delicate one to keep from what I have read but both get real big and require big tanks.

They usually come in really skinny (you should be able to tell by looking at the base of the tail; skinny ones will have two "points" protruding way out). If it's not accepting food, you may need to start out with live ghost shrimp. Once it's eating ghost shrimp, try to switch it over to squid (that's what all mine seemed to prefer, now they're pigs and eat everything). Good luck.

I have always had them never had issues. They are amazing and very active. Only 1 of mine was a finicky eater but that only lasted a week. Mine will eat anything you feed pellets, squid, shrimp, seaweed you name it. never had one die on me yet but I do have a 600 gallon tank and keep things very well maintained. The finicky one I had to start on live blood worms then transitioned to frozen foods and now everything it can get. Good luck with it.
