Blue Spotted Jawfish

I have a 75 gal. mixed reef tank with an open top and I am wanting to add a blue spotted jawfish. I have heard both sides that the fish will jump out and that it would be fine. What does eveyone here think? Should I worry about him jumping out if I add it to my tank?

Yes, but it's easy to make a mesh screen.

Definite jumpers. If you really want one, I wouldn't risk it without a screen or lid of some sort.

I have lost 2 blue spots to jumping and 1 blue spot to suicide by powerhead, I had a mesh top and still lost them, if I would do them i would have to have a canopy now.

Thanks for the info and help! After reading that article and some others, I think I will unfortunately have to pass on adding the jawfish as I will be unable to supply it with a sufficient enough home.

good job on researching before you by and having the self control to pass on a fish. to many people buy first, research second.
