Actually have one right now, have had it for about 3 weeks now. Fairly mellow, but doesn't back down. Would not attempt to do it in a reef tank, I have a handful of zoas in my 75 and it started to go after them right away.
Mine is a big, and loves meaty foods, just started eating out of my hand; have a feeling that is going to be an issue for my fingers.

I don't have a blue spot but I do have a different toby, a lantern toby named Norbert. Mine is the same way, I tried keeping some zoas in my tank and went right after them. I tried keeping a BTA in there, he tore it apart. He is fine when I put my hands in the tank, but I still am nervous. I have had Norbert for about six months and he is about 4" and I got him at 3". The only thing about him is he REFUSES to touch anything that has touches the sand bed so keeping his teeth down is a pain in the butt. I do catch him crunching on the rock from time to time and it seems to do the trick.
But I digress. I guess you are posting in this forum because I assume you want to keep one in a reef. I would not do it, personally. Good luck. I am very partial to all puffers, fantastic personalities.

I've had one in a 40 gallon softy tank for a couple of years and it's shown no interest in any of the corals (leathers, nephthea, anthelia, a few zoanthids) or anemones (LTA and s. tapedum) it's been kept with.
It looks like I've just gotten very lucky based on things others have said.
It does eat snails, however, and I'm assuming it would also eat shrimp and hermits, and I've seen him eat mini brittle stars when they are unlucky enough to be dislodged from rock. He has not gone after my very large brittle star. So, they can be tough on the cleanup crew even if they leave corals alone.
