Hi, I have a few SPS in my tank but my blue accropora is loosing is color for brown. I've moving around but still having found why he is loosing is color. I have a pink, red and green sps and they are all great except my blue one. My lignt is led. Do they need a special treathement ?

Thanks !

If its browning and the rest are okay.. Its more than likely not getting enough light... Also... It takes weeks to months to get the color back... Its not going to happen overnight... Lastly... put it in one spot and leave it... stop touching it and moving it... It stresses the coral and could lead to it browning or worse STN'n.

Have you checked for bugs? Not to be that person that goes straight to the bug issue, but if everything else is looking good cept those ones i might check them out just to be 100%

What are your other sps? Are they acros? If not then you might be something other than light. Different corals are easier to keep so if the others are doing well and they arent acros then that opens the door for other issues.

I have found that my blues get better color closest to the top, and brown if I place them lower in the tank. For me green is the opposite. I keep green on the sand bed. Everything else in the middle. I run 3x150MH. This is my experience.

What kind of led are u using?

show your reef to us.

best regards

I've got a Maxspect g2 170w.

The coral is on the top, and I trying to find him a good spot. I dont move him a lot. I will leave him on the top.

Sorry, no bug !

Yup, all acros !

Thank you all !

do you have a pic of it ?
have it since a long time and any change in lighting recently ?
I have a blue staghorn that keeps getting brown when I change my lights (leds to MH to t5h0 !)...

if the problem is not caused from phosphate or wrong lighting system, you can dose Potassium. The Lugol is iodine and it renders the coral dark if added it too much

i would also look into p04 possibly being high, if this coral is showing discoloration the others may not be far behind..

My NO3 is .25 ppm and my PO4 is .02. Now I'm trying to feed a little more and I check my parameters a little more in case something goes up. Thanks
