Blue Throat Trigger Issue

iLLwiLL

Codename: Dutchess
I picked up a pair of 3" - 4" bluethroats from my LFS last week and am concerned about the male. The female hid for 1 day and since has been cruzing my 180 and been really enjoyable. the male has hid the entire time . . . until tonight. he finally came out of his hidey hole and is swimming really weird. kinda up-side downish at the bottom, and seemingly unable to go in reverse. I was going to remove him, but after topping off my QT he had found his way back into his hole (odd?).

At the LFS they were in a 150 FO tank that they run a little copper in to prevent diseases. They were both there for a month and every time I went to the shop I saw them eat some small live shrimp. I was going to grab some of them on monday to entice him to come out more, but now I am not really sure what to do?

I'm guessing its some kind of swim bladder issue, but where would this have come from all of a sudden? Should I try to remove him to a QT, or will that just add stress to this whole scenario? If I do remove him, what should I treat with?

~Will.

If he's not eating, get those shrimp tomorrow.

If he's eating, soak everything in supplements.

Have you checked all of your water parameters?
