Blue Throat Triggers

I had a pait of them in another tank in the past but have came across a pair of them that are just plain beatiful. However I have a few concerns. In the past I never kept cleaner shrimp or clams with them as I had heard they may nip at the mantles of clams or may eat the cleaner shrimp. These triggers are a good 5". Just checking to see if anyone has any experience with triggers mixed with clams and cleaner shrimp.

My Male Bluethroat is about that size. I don't keep him with a female though, yet.


I have a squamosa clam, harlequin shrimp, Fire Shrimp, and Peppermint Shrimps. He has never messed with anything. I feed 2-3 times every day. Then on weekends I will feed the same quantity of food, and just spread the feedings out throughout the entire day.

I have two males in my tank (It was supposed to be a pair, but the female turned out to be a male after 6 months). they don't bother shrimp or clams in the tank. Actually they are not very aggressive at all.

I have a niger and him and my cleaner live in the same hole.
