blue throat

I have had one!
they are really funnie and have great charcter! they do well by themselves with no orther triggers, you can put them with a niger or a pink tail it better if you put the blue jaw in first!
i have notice that they are jumpers so it good to have a cover.

i have a pair in my tank and they are great fish... very shy fish but great. when food around they come right out and feed. have with a flame angel and a blue damsel and never a problem at all.

Im also thinking of getting one. I saw a male the other day. I have read they are great in reefs and will let shrimp clean them.

Cool fish. They are jumpers. My first one jumped (and that one had a beautiful blue jaw). His jumping was the straw that got me building a mesh top for my tank. I then bought another one that had a blue jaw at the store. But since being home for the last 8 months, his jaw isn't blue as my first.

The LFS owner says it's a male and looking at mines, it looks like a male, but the blue just isn't there. I have him with my Pinktail and Clown trigger and he's the shyest one. But he doesn't hide or anything, just swims to the back when I approach.

He's a pig like the rest of my triggers/tangs/angels and even though his only like 4.5 inches long, he's almost an inch wide/thick.

He does fine when I had him with my two cleaner shrimps (but I took the shrimps out cause of my clown trigger).

Anybody have any issues keeping pistol shrimp and shrimp goby pair with a trigger? I have quite a few crevices and will add even more rock later. I plan to introduce a trigger into my DT here very soon like 2 weeks or less and down the road want to add a pistol shrimp and shrimp goby later. Can I keep a tang with the trigger?

I have one in my QT right now, and he's quite shy. He doesn't bother my other QT inhabitants (nasarrius snails, zoster angelfish, and kole tang). Eats mysis and silversides, but not NLS pellets yet. These guys can get pretty big relatively quickly, and are messy eaters (so make sure you run an appropriate-sized skimmer).

My understanding is that they don't bother ornamental shrimp that are established. However, if you want to add a shrimp afterwards, do it at night and guide the shrimp to a rock crevice so that the blue throat doesn't mistake him for food.

whoever has one can you post pictures please and thank you

In a 180 fowlr though...out and about most of the time. Not picky when it comes to food and will eat dry and frozen.
