blue tint to reef crystals

Hmmmmm. I might take it back. I've not used reef crystals, but if it's supposed to be white like other salt brands, I might not use the blue stuff.

I am by no means saying that this is what it is, but copper salts are usually blue or green. So either of those two colors would scare me if I didn't know what it was.

the more I read about reef crystals the more I'm thinking of trying something new .I would take your bag back! I'm sure you alot more at to lose than the price of the bag of salt

i use reef crystals with great success, but i have never seen a blue tint, better safe than sorry on this one, i would seek an exchange but would not switch brands.

no such thing as a stupid question :-) looking at it in the kitchen next to the rest of my last bag.

Well compairing it to the last bag would definitely say that the new salt is different. I have read a few threads in the past year about blue water change water. If memory serves and it sometimes does lol those posts were also about RC. I have not used RC in over a year myself so I have not seen this myself but I would contact Marineland and they will probably replace it for you.

The number should be on the bag. It will be for Aquarim Systems which is the parent company for Marineland USA/Instant Ocean. 1-800-822-1100 is on one of my older buckets.
