Are you familiar with any researchers doing this type of work with marine compounds? I have a sponge that nothing eats, and it easily overgrows EVERY species of coral, zooanthid, mushroom etc it encounters so it must have something really strong going for it.

Yes, Joe, there is a good precedent for this, especially with sponges. I was going to stay away from sponges just because they tend to be difficult to keep, but if you have one that grows easily and you'd be willing to spare some, I'll take it to investigate.
