Blue Zoanthids or Palythoas-Yep, show them here

I recently bought this blue polyp and stumbled across this thread while I was looking for it's common name. Never found the name so I don't know what you'd call this, but it's blue and this is a cool thread, so here it is:

I dont usually post in picture threads. However, since blues are my favorite... This is my alltime favorite zoanthid, hands down.
Please dont PM me for frags, or the name or anything. Last time I posted a pic of these I got slammed with tons of PM's. I am not selling these. Thanks.

I want to know how much they are per polyp!!!! JK JK JK... Do they grow good for you? How long have you had them?

$1200 pp :eek1: j/k.... I have never seen them anywhere else. They have done very well for me in the past. The polyps from that picture got smoked when a tank sitter overdosed my tank with kalk... I recently aquired some back from a good friend who I gave some to a few years ago...

Just the basics:

Where are they in the tank? Mid level

Bright light medium etc. Medium, they were under pc's. They tend to brown out under high lighting.

Flows? Just enough flow to make them wiggle, produced some very nice skirts.

How well do they grow? Grew great, I had a couple hundred polyps. Started with 12.

Do they ever die off and come back etc. No, Never experienced a die off, except when they all died off from a pH of 10 and dKH of 15 when my tank was overdosed... :furious:

Are they aggressive towards others? Not overly.

:)

Now we know where all the blues have gone... Organism is hoarding them all... :spin2: haha j/k

:D

Actually none of those are in my little nano, they're just pics of corals that ended up at LFS all over the country instead of on the overpriced online market.

These are the only ones in my nano and they've got a good bit of blue, they came in as some red hornet looking knock-offs but colored up waaaay nicer than any "hornets" ever could :)

Cost me like $.35 a polyp, if you go on LFS treasure hunts and have a little imagination on what something might color up as then you'll find gold fairly consistently.

Agreed. Nice find!

In the second image, are those spread white dots coming out when they like the light you have?

Im not sure what you are asking. I see lots of older grainy pics most of which taken under 10k lighting.

Not sure what you are meaning by white dots?? If you are speaking to the grainy images, no thats just the camera guy
