I've been looking to get some blue zoos for a long time.

Finally got some.

There not as crazy blue as the famous "Tubs" blues.

Do people keep this color morph under higher light or lower light. I've got them under some 250 14K, and don't want to burn them. But they look so good under that light. I was surprised how much flow these guys can take. I'm quickly becoming a zoo addict.

Randy,

Nice Zoos! I love zoos too. I think they are my favorite! I have a little frag of Blue Zoos. I keep them under 400W 10K and they seem to be doing fine.

Here are my blue zoos. The pics arent the best. I have a hard time focusing on them for some reason!

Very Nice Jamie.

I've found it's easier to take good Macro shots if the coral is only a few inches from the glass. The farther away it is, the harder it is to take a good pic.
If you really want to get a good picture of something, move right up front to take the shot.

Also, top down shots can work well too. Just make sure to turn off all the pumps so the water surface is still.

Randy,

I will have to try that. It is right in the middle of my tank so I cant get a good shot.

Where did you find your Blue Zoo's? That is a huge colony! They are amazing!

Hey Jamie.
It was pure luck. They came in on a local tranship. The one in the picture has teal polyps in the front and then dark blue in the middle and back. There was another in the same shipment. It's nice, but this one's my favorite.

Here's the other one.

It's got more of a grape look to it.

Here's another pic of the blues

Next time I'll turn the pumps off so I don't get all those bubbles.

Though, I took these shots when they were under a single 400 watt 10K bulb. Taking good pics under bluer halides is tough since I changed the bulb to a 14K.

Randy, they are beeeautiful.
I find that a lot of the blue zoas I've seen have a very small polyp size. Yours are larger than most people's. :D
With my blue zoas, the color changes.
Here's the same zoas as Jamie's, under 20 watts of 10k PC & 20 watts of actinic:

Since I've put them in my 30 gallon with 14k VHO, they've stayed a more navy. heh My brown acros are changing color faster than these.
In my nano they did get dark when I moved them around in the tank for a few weeks... but would gradually change back.

In my ten gallon with PCs, more light they looked better.

I've got more lighting with VHOs with a different spectrum and they're darker.

I'm guessing that would be less light in your tank if you've got MH. =)

Those grape ones are awesome too.
