Bluechin Triggerfish..

I have only had mine for a week and hes in QT now but hes awesome so far! Very friendly little guy. He is not with any tankmates yet though, so I can't comment on how he is with other fish...But I have heard they are great.

I have had one for about 8 months now. The only tankmate he squabbles with from time to time is my niger and that's only when the niger gets a little pushy. I have a fairly aggressive tank and he holds his own.

I've had mine in my reef tank for about 6-7 weeks. He is not the least bit agressive toward any fish, doesn't bother any inverts or corals. He's a great addition.

I had one for a few years, no problems with any fish. I also had hermits and soft corals in the tank, he never bothered them.

I've put several in many tanks, great fish. I'd never keep it with other triggers though, not a good idea at all. I usually place a male with 2-3 females. All go into reef tanks with hard and soft, anemone, clams and shrimp/crabs. Just a bit shy at first, could take a few weeks to come out much. Good luck!

one of the more skittish fish .. but definately becomes one of the boldest when food is involved. It's only a matter of time before the trigger recognizes you as the food source and follow you around the tank!

yes they are skittish to begin with. They will gain confidence through time. good luck with your choice, they are a great fish.

Had one for about a year in a peaceful tank, never bothered anyone. Very shy though, even after the year he rarely came out from the rocks very often.

How about a Sargassum (Red Tail)?

How about a Sargassum (Red Tail)?

I'm considering a trigger as well, but leaning towards the Sargassum. Seems to be much like a Blue Chin with respect to compatibility.
I have a Coral Beauty, long nose Hawkfish, some hermits, snails and a coral banded shrimp.
92 corner tank.

i have two

i have two

I've had a couple for about a year I bought what I thought was a female had it for two weeks than I added a male trying to make a pair several months later the color changed on the so called female and what do you know I have two males, and they are quite a pair they do not fight and are always together, I have thought about replacing one with a true female but I do not think that would be right because I truly think that these are a pair :)
