Blueface Angel scrapped himself

Hi, I have a Blueface Angel that scrapped himself on the rocks (at least thats what I think happened). Anyway, he has a small cut on his body. It has only been a couple of days, but it looks kind of red. Does not look infected, but am worried about it.

Would prefer not to catch him out of the DT? Should I try feeding antibacteria food? Anyone have a good broad spectrum antibiotic that help with possible infections.

Thanks in advance.

Rarely I'll pull a fish out in an instance like this unless needed, generally will up the already frequent water changes, start the second uv and feed extra vitamins, usually cure themselves.

Is this in a reef or FO? I would first try soaking his food in vitamin supplements (selcon, zoecon, vita-chem) before resorting to antibiotics. His natural immune system should be able to clear this up if it gets a little nutritional boost. :)

I will try the vitamin supplements first. He's in a FO tank so it will be easier to deal with.

Any signs I should look out for that will indicate it getting worse.

Just like w/humans, it will either start to "look" better or worse. Also, if the fish starts breathing heavy or starts looking bothered by it - that's a bad sign.

You can use any gram-positive antibiotic in a FO without having to worry about destroying the bio-filter. Erythromycin (Maracyn) would be my first choice. Erythromycin is the active ingredient used in Chemiclean, so it's no more dangerous than using that.
