gonna post this over here...

I've had this BS jaw for 6 weeks or so. When I picked him up he was an eating machine. About 10 days or so ago he stopped eating and was breathing heavy. I also noticed he was shedding his slime coat. I collected the fish and isolated him. 3 days ago I decided to try something different and I FW dipped him. When I put him back into the tank I thought he was a gonner. He was floppin around, but about 2 hours later he was settled back in and a few hours after that he started breathing normally for the first time in 8 days or so. The next day I offered him some food and he ate it. Again today he is eating...it seems like he is coming around.

Now for the current issue. it's his tail. It looks like it is disentigrating. I noticed a few days ago it was a nub, but now it appears to be spread upward. Anythoughts on what this is and the treatment for it? I feel like it is an external infection and I plan to dip him in some antibiotics but would like some recommendations on the treatment. I could also be a fungal deal...thought I could get an expert to chime in .
thanks
