BM 250 on 180gallon set up?

I am setting up a 140 gallon with 40 gallon sump. I have a Bubble Master 250 which is rated for 500+ gallons. Will it be bad to put this skimmer on this tank. I don't have the funds to buy a new skimmer unless I sell this one first. I do not plan to go bigger anytime soon.

I had a BM200p on a 156 and I think it was too big. It never got a good foam head and always skimmed wet because of it.
I did get lots of dark, nasty stinky skimmate. But it always skimmed wet.

The BM250 will not perform well on that size tank. Two PSK 2500s are monsters. I had one PSK 2500 (BM200) on a heavily stocked SPS 180g and it performed extremely well.

My assessment of the PSK 2500:

One PSK 2500 rated for a heavily stock tank: 180g - 220g
Two PSK 2500 rated for a heavily stock tank: 220g - 400g
