Feeling Competitive BNARC will give a check for $40 to every reef club that brings 4 or more members who pay admission. The Club that brings the most members will receive a check for $75 (an additional $35 to the original $40). A person who belongs to more than one club must determine which one club gets credit for his attendance. This year BNARC is setting aside 10% of its admission and 1% of its raffle proceeds to allow us to buy supplies for the reef tank we donated to the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, last year. This will provide a dependable supply for the zoo tank available as soon as it is needed. In addition to the raffle each paid attendee will receive a ticket for the door prizes which will be more numerous and of greater value.

I have used the Fragtoberfest 2013 facebook page to share photos of door and raffle prize winners and to thank sponsors. JARC will be receiving a check for $40 for having more than 4 members register. If I missed thanking any of the vendors or donors who participated in Fragtoberfest 2013, I apologize it was not intentional but purely a matter of fatigue. So happy for everyone who participated in any capacity. These events are a combination of the chemistry of everyone who gathers together to share knowledge and enjoy each others company. There were at least 7 clubs represented at the event. The Peoria Area Reef Club which had the most members in attendance chose to donate their check from BNARC to the Miller Park Zoo reef tank. I am very proud of the generous nature and quality of people I have met in this hobby. Uncle Carl

For the past 5 years we have had Fragtoberfest on a Saturday and SLASH has had their event on the following Sunday which was a convenience for vendors. SLASH decided to move their event to Saturday. We did not have a site reserved for the following Sunday but we did have the Interstate for Saturday. It did not make sense to go head to head with SLASH where vendors would have to choose which to attend. BNARC's goal was to support the events not compete. Most of the other weekends in Oct and Nov had competing fragfests or holidays so we have postponed our festival. We are trying to secure a site for February 15th 2015 - not much in this area that time of year. I hope people will attend at the new date we hope to have speakers again BNARC still has good relations with SLASH and I am still a member of both clubs.
