BOD major decision

Last week the BODs meet and some big club decisions where made.
First topic was FragFest 2009 results. In a nut shell it allowed the club to clear some outstanding debt as well as put several hundred dollars into the bank. Specifics will be made available to premium members on request, per club by-laws.
The topic moved to FragFest 2010. Three board members moved that the club should not do another FragFest. This being a majority the three were able to change the course of your club, and the Rockford Reefers will not be doing another FragFest. Personally I feel like a club event should have been voted on by the club and I am not ready to give up on this event, the past three years have really been a learning experience for what works as what doesn't, I believe future events are set to be amazing. I proposed to the BOD that I take the event on personally. Since the majority of the BOD made the decision that the club would not be involved, with out someone taking it on personally the event would fade away. So FragFest will live on as I will handle the event personally.
The question was raised how can I plan and execute FragFest and remain the club president. Based on several factors, including this on the decision was made that I would step down as club President. My membership as a premium member is valid through June, at which time it is my plan to renew and stay an active member of the club.
I truly have enjoyed my time in leadership of this wonderful club and look forward to being an active member with in the club as well.

Those who know me well know know that I sometimes have a tone I never ment to have. Some have said this has such a tone, it was never intended. Here is a differant version of the same decisions writrten by another BOD for what it is worth
Last week the BODs met and some decisions where made regarding the future direction of the club.

First topic was FragFest 2009 results.
We did better this year than last, which allowed the club to clear some outstanding debt from the previous event, and built the club bank back up to a comfortable operating level. Specifics will be made available to premium members on request, per club by-laws.

The topic moved to FragFest 2010. Three of the board members expressed that they would not be able to handle the tasks for future fragfests. This was due to their need to meet family obligations (congrats on new babies on the way), and also that the workload of the event was, in their opinion, taking focus off other club activities. Rob asked if the decision should be voted on by the club, but others decided not to put it to a vote because there were no other volunteers available to commit to it at this time anyway, and the rules of the club didn't require it. So as a club, the Rockford Reefers will not be doing another FragFest. Rob, then expressed that he was not ready to give up on the event. The past three years had really been a learning experience for what works as what doesn't, and he believed future events could be amazing. He proposed to the BOD that he take the event on personally to prevent the event from fading away.

So FragFest will live on as a seperate event, and the club will continue as well.
Rob has enjoyed his time in leadership and will remain a premuim active member in the club, but will step down as club President to focus on the FragFest event.

Tom Kucala will step up as Vice President for the remaining term of office.

Respectfully,
Your Rockford Reefer Board Members
