Boring sponge?

I have what I think is a boring sponge starting to pop up in my tank. Unfortunately i can't get any pics at the moment.
The ones that I have seen in the overflows and such have been like little pineapples. But recently I have noticed some small, flat pinkish looking things popping up all over. I have caught a glimpse of a larger one at the back of my tank. It is kind of flat, translucent pink to red with asingle siphon that is about as big around as diameter of my pinky. I have actually seen two of them. If I can at least get a shot of the little ones I'll post them later.

Thanks,
Scott

Without a picture it's hard to tell.

I have yet to see a boring sponge. They usually just fill in holes and the underside of rocks and are filter feeders.

I have one like you describe. It's size expands and contracts depending on how often/regularly I feed phytoplankton.

Best of luck,

Roy

i have an idea on what you are talking about the pinapple ones, from what i seen in my own tank, they are harmless and havent done any wrong in my display, but in my return pipes they seem to like it in there, guess they like low lights levels and high flow just like racrumrine said most likly just filter feeders
