Bought a couple different types of Z&P

I bought 5 frags of different types of Zoanthids and all but 1 frag has opened up. What might cause polyps not to open? I have them on a frag rack atm all next to each other.

Lighting, chemistry, temp, aclimation, other critters crawling over it.

How about some pictures and some tank information.

coming from a drastically different tank (good or bad) will cause this without good acclimation... If that is the case and your parameters are acceptable, they should come out in the first couple days... how long has it been?

The one frag never opened and last I saw it was gone from the frag plug with a clean spot where it had been not sure if it died off or was eaten by my Bicolor since prior to me removing him the other week he was eating anything he could even though he and the other fish were fed regularly.

Lighting is a AI Sol set at 35% due to the size of my tank
Water Parameters were fine and the other zoas are doing well.

I drip acclimate using airline with a valve. I usually acclimate for 45mins while removing some of the water every 10mins or so.

I did everything i could to acclimate my rastas to light, water, and temp but they still wouldn't open. I then dipped them and they were open in about half an hour. You can try that. But water parameters, as stated, would be nice.

I have had many zoas leave the frag plugs when first introduced. The can be a pain to find, but I have gotten lucky so far. Try a Furan-2 dip if you find it, this works for me when the other dips don't.

Oh sorry forgot I am dipping the corals in Advance Bayer dip based off the information from others and what ive found through searching google and bing.(this wasnt the issue)

I was just curious what could cause them to not open and basically melt away.

My Alk was 7.8 at the time. Ammonia was 0, Nitrites were 0, Nitrates were right around 0(the test I have is difficult to read between the lowest 2 readings, my Phosphates were close to 0. Salinity was 1.024

Could be that you don't have enough nutrients in the water. Some Zoas seem to like a little nitrate.

Could be many reasons. Water parameters. Lighting difference. Zoas may have to adjust to the different conditions in your tank. What's your salinity compared to salinity where the zoas are coming from?

Also zoas like diriter water. What's your bioload look like?
