bought browned frags from a crashed tank. how to recover colors?

i bought some frags for a good price from a guy who went away on business, and after coming back had neglected doing water changes and what not, he only did topoffs. his nitrates were up around 50ppm from what he told me. he showed me some pics of the frags before the nitrate problem and they were awesome. now they r brownish/brownish pink in color.

how do i bring the colors back?

Just give them stability and time.

It will just be a matter of time. If your tank is stable they will settle in and color up over the next few months.

i think one of the frags is STN'ing. how do i cure this? can it be cured by just leaving it in my tank that has stable parameters or is it hopeless once STN starts?

I think you mean rtn... and you should frag the good part well away from the rtn area and get rid of the rest......
