Bounce mushrooms

Hi reefcentral!
I have been in this hobby for a while now and have seen lots of corals and had access to a lot of the wholesalers in los angels all around lax airport.
I just can't see the beauty or understand the high price of bounce mushrooms.
I see bounce mushrooms listed for sale at crazy prices and don't think anybody buys them. It seems like a gimmick to me.
I would rather spend 200-300 on a few nice pieces of sps, lps, ricordeas/yumas, or softies.
Is there something I just don't get? I know beauty is subjective but I really don't see any justification for the price of bounce mushrooms.

I could never justify that either!! Coloration, rarity, bubbles, whatever.... To each their own though, to some peeps it's worth every penny. I would rather drop that kind of dough on a nice tie dye

Coral popularity is interesting. It seems through my research, that the bounce mushroom is created by messing around with lighting and water parameters to get diffrent effects. Wait a month or too, and the price drops. Maybe it will be softies next.

I just don't get it? I have never seen a bounce mushroom that made me think I want that in my tank or that mushrooom will draw a lot of attention in my tank.

They are pretty. They are unique. They die for a lot of folks. This keeps the price up. If they were pretty, unique and easily propagated, the price would come way down.
