Braces Perfecto

I have a 265 gallon perfecto tank it has black braces across the middle I was wondering if they can be removed are they just to hold tank tops or are they functional can I replace them with clear acrylic. I am getting a major shadow effect from my MH"s and I don't like it. Has anyone done this or have a number for perfecto so I can call them.

Your tank will likely blow out without them. They are definitely there for a reason. Replacing them with acrylic is definitely an easy option. Much easier if it's not wet yet.
