So I started with just wanted to replace the doors on my tank. Then I decided to Center the tank on the stand which meant draning the tank completly and moving it. Then I was at menards and found some tile to go around the tank. and then...you see where this is going?

So heres where we started

Tank Drained living room of buckets(good thing the girl friend is working this month in detroit)

Busted the drainpipe off in the bulkhead, so had to get it out. Ya That didnt go so well.

Water Back in the tank with the rock

Water cleared up

and thats as it sits right now. I haven't replaced the bulkhead yet, so its going to sit below the overflow for now until I get a new one.

New Light coming this week! :D

Ill take pics of the door when they are done being painted, they are hardwood cherry and if i can say so my self, absolutely gorgeous

Ill update as I go!

Equipment list:

4x2x2 120 Gallon Tank
48x18"x18" sump, about 1/2 full
600GPH at 6' head return(rio, dont remember what model
2x1320gph korilla type Powerheads
1x800gph korilla 2 powerhead
HD special grow light under the stand
aqua-clear 300 Gallon rated skimmer(this is going to be replaced by either an avast or swc)

rebuild plans not attained yet:

Tile around the tank with travertine(seal)
figure out how to mount the doors, thinking magnets or strong velcro. ill figure it out
new skimmer
EcoTech Mp40(some day. probably 2 of them)
Build power center(2 american DJ strips)
rebuild sump, put in some more baffles.
plumb in a 15 gallon refugium and 20 long Frag tank
Rebuild overflow(new bulkhead, replumb below tank, currently running herbie, will keep)
800W titanium Finnix heater digital
New 4x2x2 Rimless display(starfire front?)

Well that should do it! Updates will come, probably after Thanksgiving before anything major.

I subscribe to the Sunnyx way of doing things, KISS. So a skimmer will probably be the fanciest piece outside of the Mp40s. I can only hope to get the results he did. Got some palys to kill, and then i will be stocking the tank with corals.

Thanks for tuning in!

dont know if anyone is watching this, but Ill post anyways.

Got the bulkhead replaced and the skimmer kinda tuned, its still being a pain. Powerheads on their way for replacements for crappy one.

and how it looks now.

the rats nest.(this is getting organized tonight...

Sorry to divert your thread, but Traverse City!?!
I was starting to think that when the last saltwater shop in town closed so did everyone's tanks. Anyways, it is cool to see someone else from TC on these boards. if i may ask, where do you go for your saltwater supplies/livestock?

there is a place on supply between 4 and 5 mile that is a dog breeder shop, they have ok prices but wander the tanks, the same fish could be 10 bucks cheaper inside the same store, Pay close attention to the fish as well. wait a week before buying stuff. I also spend alot of time downstate so choice aquarium is the place to go when down there.

there is a reef club meeting tonight at firefly at 6pm. I wont be there but there should be a few guys. Not sure if they are doing an order or not.

michigan reefers has the thread.

New light hung! ignore the cyano. at least thats what I think it is, its brown and a nice little carpet. Params are great, but I think there is an excess of phosphates from when I wasnt using RoDi plus a little of the die off from the move.
