Brain coral help

My brain coral in the past few weeks lost most of his color and looks extremely bloated but has not receded. I had a mini tank crash a week ago due to wife over feeding while I was away for two weeks and had an insane nitrate spike since then three water changes later things are looking better but the brain is not will it take time for him to recover or is there another issue going on?

What are you thinking is wrong? He look happy and healthy to me. Maybe a little off in color but that could be the picture. Any pic without blue light to get a better idea of what you think is wrong with it?

I am no expert by any means. I think I have read a post that Tweaked posted that if a coral gets alot of bad nutrients inside that they will turn brown and expand trying to expel the nutrients. Something to that extent. maybe he will come across your thread, very knowledgeable reefer about LPS.

Yes, yes, I know tweaked very well (in person lol) But yeah Im sure he will see this soon, ill see what he says!

I personally think in that picture the coral looks happy.

Ok, loss of color, bloated huh. Sounds like the animal expelled it's zoox algae, and is now starving for food. Being that the zoox is out right now, low light, low flow, and spot feed. I like to broadcast feed the tank which triggers the feeding response from corals. 10-15 minutes later is then the best time to try meaty foods. If you have a container to keep critters at bay that would be a plus. GL
