Brain coral

So when I got my tank it came with a brain coral? At least that's what I was told. Anyway for the first month it's been fine. In the last week maybe, it's had a white almost spongey stuff coming out of the top. It's not really stringy like everything I've been reading. Any idea what it could be or an ID on the coral?

Hard to tell what it is without a better pic.Your coral looks dead.All I see is coral skeleton.
