Brain damage?

Need some help with my red open brain. Seem that the flesh is pulling away and some brown algae or something is taking root (see center of picture). I bought this from another reefer and the brown was just a small amount but it seems to be getting larger. Any suggestions as to what it is or how to get rid of it?

Is it brown jelly like? If it is I would cut away any of the brown areas.Just be careful and not cut to much of the flesh.

It is more like brown slime alage. Is that what you mean about jelly?

Probrably a brown jelly infection. Like Jarrod said cut away brow areas w/ sharp knife. If left alone the infection will consume the whole specimen and it will deteriorate to nothing. If the infection set in before you bought it, moving it to your tank was surely enough stress to cause it to progress more rapidly. good luck

Lugols is suppose to help with infection as well. But be carefull that stuff can be just as hurtfull as helpfull if not done to the directions.

Everything seems to be going well. Thank you for the advice. I dont see any signs of brown jelly anywhere.
