roger, did you try this setup?: (2) 6100 on the same side
simultaneously pulsing both facing straight down the long axis
the length of tank is 6', width 2'

No, I have not tried it, My 180 is a plant tank and my friend with a 180 reef has since cut down to one Stream while he waits for a wavebox.

ok, what i want to know is do you think there would be a decent
bounce back if you know what i mean.

I would think that you wouldn't get enough flow under the pumps on the side where they both are,

You might want to angle them so they hit the sides after a few feet. I really don't know, I think their will be plenty of flow but not a lot of bounce back unless you angle them

ok, thanks just debating whether to get a branch adapter
or stick to my 2 single controllers. my reef scape starts low on one
side and gradually slopes upward to the other end thats why
i rather have both streams on one side.
