well just as the title says i've just received one that I had special ordered from the LFS. It took almost two months get in but it finally got the phone call friday afternoon!

I'm wondering for everyone else who has one how long did it take them to start eating? So far I haven't seen mine eating but I have added a bag of live copepods to the QT. I've also tried small amounts of cyclops and frozen mysis pushed into the live rock. I haven't tried live feeder shrimp yet but I'm going to get some today.

Also it really hasn't started to move around too much I have seen it moving but for the most part it just sits in the same spot. I'm not worried about it YET. I'm sure its still stressed from the shipping, but when can I except a little more movement or curiosity?

I don't have a good camera but I'll try to get some pics later.

Thanks in advance!

I had two banded pipefish and they died the first day I recieved them. Unless you see them in the pet store it is probably best to stay away from them, sadly.:(

They ar VERY delicate shippers, and I mean VERY!

just a heads up that I recieved two pipefish from F&S 2 years ago, & they are still doing very well in my reef tank.

I don't believe those are covered by thier garantee policy either. Sorry to hear that. I've caught one locally here in the gulf of mexico and he seems to be doing fine and waits in front of liverock till something pops out and muches down. I found it sticking to a clump of seaweed in six foot surf. I like to think I rescued him from certain death from excessive wave movement.

I purchased a banded pipefish from my LFS 3 weeks ago tomorrow. I also purchased a 2 1/2 gallon tank and live brine shrimp for it, which it wouldn't touch. After the first 5-6 days with it not eating, I decided to try cyclopeze. She has been eating ever since. I feed her twice a day. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow that I have had her. I have her in a 5 1/2 gallon tank all by herself. I also have a janss pipefish that I have in my 45 gallon all fish. Have had her in there amost 3 weeks also. Both are doing well, so far.
