I was thinking about building a box too, but I'll use fiberglass insulation and cover the insualtion with felt and staple it to the box walls.

OK, so I built the box with 3/4 ply and lined it with 2" compressed foam insulation. I am happy with the results, but needs a few adjustments. I would say it made it about 1/3 quieter. I will throw up some pics tomorrow.

What are you using for airflow?

I wonder if making the box a little bigger and doubling the insulation would make much of a difference.

I was going to drill a 4" hole in the side and use one of the cheap fans we use in our canopys hooked to the genorator so whenever it is running, so is the fan. And the exaust will be flextube out to the exterior of the box, but havent done that yet.
