break in time for ati bm 200?

I was wondering what the usual break in time was for a ati bm 200?

I upgraded from a euro-reef 80 and was skimming dry. Im not even getting any froth yet. Bubbles are only to the base of the neck only because I have the valve closed to do so. If I left the valve open like the manual suggested then the water line would be just above the top of the bubble plate riser.

I know break in period can take up to a week or more. But im just suprised that some foam hasnt even started by now.

Microbubbles inside my sump are crazy to. Much more than what came out of my euro-reef.

Any advice?

1. did you clean it with vinegar prior to running it in the sump?
2. unplug the pump & start it up again. maybe it's running backwards.
3. check mesh if you think you have issues with the pump.
my ATI took about a week to break in nicely

No I didnt clean with vinegar. The unit I have was just rinsed prior to use.

Ill try unpluging the unit, that could be the issue. Mesh looked good before I started the unit.

Thanks pluto, i think the issue was that my mesh was going in the wrong direction.

I dont understand how that matters but I stopped the pump and restarted and now my skimmer is starting to make some froth. Its still at the base of the neck but at least its making froth. Now the skimmer should break in nicely I hope.
