Breakfast?

yeah I was just talking to someone about that I was kind of referring to the more middle of rochester locations lol. You know the ones you go into spend $100 bucks then feel like your making a drug deal in the parking lot giving someone a head of frogspawn lol

Yes.

Im not a huge fan of bacon myself, but love coffee and donuts. Im down for hosting a breakfast thing. Can hook up with Duncan Donuts and maybe have my next door neighbor make eggs and pancakes for people. Just a thought.

yeah that would be simple enough, at a big buffet place like that

Yeah they had one about 5 months ago in rochester

Years ago when I belonged to Toastmasters several restaurants would reserve "side rooms" for small group gatherings. Maybe if you had a consistant Saturday each month you could get people. Like last Saturday of every month at 9am. Henrietta seems somewhat central. Trying to accomodate schedules and changing dates and times would get confusing and would be a pain. Whoever can make it comes. You could get someone to give a 10 min talk or presentation during breakfast. I agree that swaps are not very social.

Thats what I always thought. most swaps are people shopping buying then leaving. I can remember a swap where they are doing all kind of lighting demonstrations and photo stuff and no one watched that but 100 people were buying things

This is a great idea. I like the idea of a consistent day.

I'm sure we could get plenty of people to talk about different topics like LEDs, carbon dosing, fish breeding, DIY fish food, etc

The best frag swap I ever went to was at Dr. Klier's place a few years back (2008?). I can't remember who it was, but they gave a presentation on rock stacking and how to drill the rocks and put in acrylic or fiberglass rods. The place was absolutely packed too.

I'm down for pancakes, fish sticks, whatever. der_wille_zur_macht, if you host an event maybe have a topic or a speaker? Just an idea. And of course pancakes:bounce2:
