could a mantis break a thick glass tank,like a 125 gallon with the half inch glass??

I think with 1/2" glass you will be fine.... Most of the mantis that come in as hitchhickers are smaller and probably won't be able to cause tank damage......

Many people keep a mantis in much smaller dedicated tank than what you have with no issues.

According to leading researchers on this topic, particularly Dr. Roy Caldwell only smashers that grow over 10cm pose a problem. And again i think only O. scyllarus and G Chiagra pose a risk of this happening.
