Breeders - why do u use tile?

I'm wondering why you use tiles for your clowns to spawn rather than having them use the LR in the tank? Is it just because you can remove the tile if you want to collect the eggs?

yes that is one reason so they can move eggs if they have to and clowns like smooth areas to lay.or on lr the flatest place they can find

It is easier to move the tile and then incubate it. If you used rock even if it was small it would be harder to incubate.

Its also better to move the eggs than the larvae as eggs are stronger and can withstand more.

Two reasons, one covered and one not.

1. Its easier to remove the tile and then put it in smaller tank to hatch the eggs.

2. You can replace that tile right away so you don't change the clownfishes environment. The goal here is to make the clownfish feel like nothing happened. If you have to remove the whole rock it laid eggs on you might make it feel like its environment is changing which in turn will make it stop sawning.

BTW, I love the clowns in your avatar!

I'd better be going tile shopping :)
