Breeding 6 line wrasses

I am wanting to get a pair of 6 line wrasses in my 110, I have heard they are really cool to watch doing their spawning "dance". Does anyone have any knowledge about them, i.e. telling what gender, whether they are dimorphic, and the best way to pair them up, thanks.

Get two that get along. Most will beat the crap out of each other. If your at a LFS try and get them to throw two together until you find a couple that get along. (they may or may not want to do this) But usually two that get along = pair.

or

I would just get a group and put em together and let em sort it out or you could mix and match yourself if you have a little temporary tank.

And by getting a long... I mean they may fight but you have to judge if one is clearly dominant or they are both going at it.

I tied that at the lfs with two that were really healthy and eating well. They kinda had a standoff with each taking turns rolling on their sides for about 5 minutes, then the larger one started striking the other and we pulled it out of the cubicle. They seemed to be kinda checking each other out the first 5 min.

I think that the stirking is not a good thing, but if you can get a group of little ones (maybe online) and put them in a small tank with lots of pvc hiding places and i mean lots like cover the bottom and just let them work it out.

You may be able to establish a harem ( I believe one of the former TOTM has or had a group in a big tank and they got along and spawned and even hybridized with fourlines if I'm not mistaken). Its kind of hit or miss.

Did you ever think of getting a pair of dwarf angels?

I am kind of wary of angels in a reef tank, I tried mandarins but they became meals for my haddons carpet, along with many, many others. I think it has become the most expensive inhabitant i have.
