Very cool! Large eggs, hopefully the young will have direct development.

Oh, and welcome to Reef Central!

Jay Hemdal

Let's hope, but I do not have any experience about those eggs.
Should I let them there or take them away?
She is still sitting on them, I think to protect them but what when she's leaving?
Are they strong enough to survive on their own?
I hold also a Paru and Semicirculatis (big fish) and 5 surgeons
I'm afraid they eat the eggs?
Sorry about my english (school is long time ago)

Hi,

Sorry - I do not have any experience with these eggs either. I do not think you should try to scrape them off of the glass, you may damage them. Is there any way you could construct a plastic net structure and temporarily place it over the eggs? I'm worried that if the female Cypraea moves away, the angelfish will eat the eggs.

Here is a link to another Reef Central thread that talks about cowry reproduction:

If they are correct, and this species does have a veliger (planktonic stage) then these eggs will be very difficult to raise.

Jay

p.s. - your English is fine, much better than my ability to speak French or Dutch! My sister lives in Brussels, her daughters can speak four languages, and I can barely handle one!

Hi, Jay

Thx for the link, I'll try to take care of them and keep away the angelfish what 'll be a very difficult task.
I'm going to read much more about veliger stage and feeding plankton.
Raising them ..... I'll try to do and do my very best.

kris

About the language, we got the 4 languages at school but for me that's a long time ago.....

And again bad news
2 big polychaeted worms has eaten the eggs.
The only way to keep them will be place the snail in a separated tank
Sorry for that bad news.....
