Breeding snails

I have what appears to be a population explosion of Astrea snails. Is there anything I can introduce to the aquarium to control the young? They are all over portions of the glass. The aquarium in question is a 90gal mixed reef.

I would count that as a blessing. If you have a LFS nearby, they might agree to let you trade them in for store credit.

Some larger fish like Triggers, Puffers, etc may eat them. Hermit crabs may also eat them.

The amount of available food will limit there numbers over time.

Can you post a picture of the snails? I'm wondering if they may be collonista snails that are often mistaken for astrea or nassarius snails.

I used bumblee bee snails to take out vermitids with great success, but have read that emeralds may do it too. I also read that peppermint shrimp and 6 line wrasse might take to snails. I keep both of those usually for other reasons, I don't feel like I lost snails to them, but with an overabundance it may help. I like a six line wrasse because they could go after flatworms etc as well...

the only snail reproduction I really notice in my tank is nassarius and it's always in a moderate number that works well for me so I like it... extra CUC but I could understand how having a hundred snails on your glass would be an eye sore.
