Breeding system

May I ask- what response are you tryin to illict from this group?
I'll assume your questions are legit-

If your trying to breed freshwater fish then your SG is too high, however, if your trying to breed Sw fish then your SG is too low (1.024-026). Why may i ask are you considering 1.008?
As for a divided 125, its your call, your better served by using smaller indivdal tanks, however all thing considered it might work

I'll allow you one day to respond else this thread half life just got activated

I keep reading people suggest to lower the salinity as a deterrent for ICH. I hate to lose alot of fry to it. However if the adults are free then the whole system would be as well.

BO-
I see why your asking, however the lowest i'd go w/ SW fish is 1.009-1.010, 1.009 is sufficent to elimate ich. HOwever my Q? pertains to where did you read about ich being a major problem in the fry tanks? Often you'll read about bacteria, mold, or fungus and unfortunately its not effected by the lower salinities.
If you do atempt to setup these breeding systems, i would recommend a speerate system fro your broodstick, and your grow out, that way they are seperated, and not effecte dby one-another.
Lastly, it is usually a good thing to consider sterilization equipment on the water, such as O3 reactors or UV. They help w/ your husbandry, and your water issues

it sterilizes the water.
Esentially lowering your organics, as well as reducing the amount of parasites and bacteria.
