Brewman's 40 breeder diy build

The exterior of my stand is all stained and waiting for he doors to dry so I can sand and add one more coat of poly. I really am impressed with the way it came out and I think it looks like a quality piece of furniture. Using all hardwood oak on the outside was pricy but worth it in my book. On the interior all the wood was painted with kilz premium primer and then ultra white paint/primer on top. Where there were seams I used white caulk to seal any exposure or spills from water. I left the back wide open for good air flow. I will post pictures when it gets brighter outside.

Inside the electrical compartment, this is closed off from the actual sump area and is sealed tight. Wires will be routed through a piece of plywood and then sealed around to prevent moisture.

Yesterday I got the overflow all plumbed to the sump and painted black. The best investment I could of made yesterday was a ratcheting pvc cutter from HD for 11.00 , it's quick and makes no mess. Waiting for the return pump to come in so I can get those lines all plumbed and painted as well. In the mean time I will be starting on my temp controller build when I get home from work today.

Few items taken care of today, built a temperature controller and works great and got the return mostly plumbed.

Thank you , It has the option to run both, but will currently only be heat during the colder months. I figure I plan to use some sort of fan during the summer time.

My pump and skimmer are supposed to be here today as long as my wife picks them up. On Monday I get to go to the airport and pick up my TBS "package" order.

Got my jebao dc6000 and sca302 skimmer. Tested both and work great so far, that jebao pump is extremely quiet.

Looks nice. Great job on the cabinet I love the look and how neat it will be. I have a 29 standard (no sump but ATO below) and it looks like your original setup. The exposed wires and tube for the ATO drive me nuts too.

Stocking plans?

Well I have 2 oce. Clowns I bought as a pair from when I set up my 29 a few years ago that will be going into the new tank along with a rbta that I've had. Some corals from the old tank and still planning what other fish I'd like to add.

Here a photo of what the inside looks like. Still need to route the wires a bit neater. The ato reservoir is going to fit in between the rt side of sump and cabinet wall.

Have about 30 gallons in so far and making the rest. Have some salt mixing in the display now and a heater to at least get the water up to temp

Well I finally have all the water in the the tank and sump. On the initial start up the overflow would fill and hit the emergency drain and open channel and flush, constantly. After checking online and further review my full siphon pipe in the sump was down to far in the water column and was not allowing any air to purge out. So after a disconnect and snip of the pvc I now have it fully functioning. Minus some fine tuning and such, there is a small drip on the spa flex line at the return pump where it attaches to the hose barb. Overall I am impressed with how quiet this system is and looking forward to getting my tbs package tomorrow. Also the return pump (jebao dc6000) is very powerful, I have it on speed 2 and choked down a bit. Pictures will be posted tomorrow!
