Originally posted by Underwaterparadise I don't think he reads them! I emailed and sent PM's to him months ago and have never gotten a response
I figured he did since he told someone that's how he can be reached when someone else was trying to contact him.
If anyone else sees this maybe you can help me. Im looking for the past few issues of the MARS newsletter where I wrote a few articles called "Animal of the Month". I was hoping to get a copy in it's original .pdf format. I do have an urgent need for it, so any help would be greatly appreciated!! I use to be able to just type my name in the google search and would show my articles when they were on the old MARS sight, but when the new sight was put up they left the articles out! So now it's no where to be found on the net.
Or am I missing something? I know when you pm someone, you may not notice until the next logon, but that moment has clearly come and gone several times over....
Justin, go to your pm list and change the dropdown box from inbox to message tracking. That will let you know when he reads the pm. Normally it does take Brian a while to get to them. I don't think he's on here everyday like the rest of us.
You're not the only one who never gets a response. Sorry for the sarcasm, but I emailed him six months ago about a few things and never heard back. Don't know what else to say.
Cmon now. You all know as well as I do, you get 2 notifications. Yes you can turn the email notice off or your email carrier can block them. But everytime you log on you get a nifty lil pop up window letting you know that so&so is trying to correspond.
I do think it is too bad though. My message may not be important, although it was to me, enough so to create this thread, follow his posts to post on his thread, as well as both pm and email him to no avail.
But what happens if there was indeed an important message?
Unfortunately I was not able to attend last months meeting otherwise trust me, there is no one unapproachable short of a rabid dog in my book.
But Im over it, and thank those who have contacted me offering help, this club has some great members
I wanted the last 2 newsletters ideally in .pdf. Apparently Brian would be the only one who would have them electronically on file, the newsletters use to be downloadeable till the websight was changed, from what Im told, by him. He may have deleted everything I dont know. Why these files aren't on the new sight is another issue that is unfortunate more than myself but for everyone else, seeing that's who they were made for and have relevant information.
As far as other board members, yes I did. I think Ive gone far beyond for a simple request, at least I hope!
Sometimes I'm on RC every day all day. Sometimes I go weeks without checking it.
I see your PM sitting in my in-box. Sorry I didn't get back to you. I've been focused on other things.
I don't have the old newsletters. My recommendation is you create your own format.
My home phone number is on the club roster (\Members\Roster) on the MARS website (www.MarineAquarist.org). Note that this roster is only visible to members. If I don't reply to your e-mail feel free to call.
Thanks for the reply Brian. I looked on the sight but all I saw listed under contact was email, your phone number was passed along to me, but since I couldnt find it publically and you didnt give it to me I felt it would be imposing and presumptuous to use it.
That is unfortunate about the articles, was hoping to get it in it's original format but hey, life happens and I understand, thanks again.
