Well, after two years in a new house, it's time to begin another tank. I planned this one very carefully. The tank is finally up and running, but I'll begin from the beginning.
The display tank is a room divider, and I ordered the tank in 19mm Starphire glass. It's 37" high, 60" long, and 20" front-to-back. 6" of the length is taken up by a coast-to-coast full height overflow. The display tank is on the ground floor of the house.
The sump is 72" long, 26" high, and 24" front-to-back. It has dividers to enable me to use it for both a refugium and other sump duties. The sump is located in the basement beneath the display tank.
Here's a photo of the ground floor before prepping for the aquarium:
...and here's the stand I built after (gently) demolishing the low wall:
Similarly, here's the stand in the basement, awaiting the sump:
More to come. Next up, the aquariums!
