brick mod on skimmer

My skimmer was too deep and wasnt pulling any gunk so to raise it I used a paver brick. I didnt want to worry about the brick leeching anything into my tank so I put it in a zip lock bag. Should I be worried about the bag breaking down in my sump?

btw the skimmer works great with the height change.

I'm not sure that you'll ever know and for all the hassle it may cause I'd look at getting some pvc and acrylic or eggcrating from lowes or HD and building something for the height you need

thats what I was thinking when I made it. It was really just to see if raising the height helped the skim, I should have put more thought into the materials but the brick was just sitting there…
