Do any of you raise your own brine shrimp to feed your fish? I've heard that brine alone is not nourishing enough - do you also use good flake foods? My fish are: watchman goby, 2 firefish, 2 clowns, several clown gobies, royal gamma, 6 line wrasse, midas blenny, Mccoskers wrasse & carpenter wrasse. I would appreciate any suggestions on best foods, feeding times, etc. Thank you. Carolyn

I occasionally raise brine shrimp, but only for a treat. You can gut load them and make them more nutritional, but I feed lots of other stuff so I don't bother.

Newly hatched brine shrimp is better than adult brine shrimp. Its more nutritious because it contains the yolk sac. So IMO theres no need to raise them just to hatch them.

i raise my own brine aswell, but i dont do it very often. i like to feed my fish a varied diet. i use probably 10-15 different kinds of food and i like to make my own food when i get the chance.

Feed 2-3 times a day. Fish graze in the natural habitat. Try not to feed the same thing twice in a row.

Best to pick up a variety of frozen foods marked for carnivores and omnivores. PE mysis, cyclops, enriched brine, krill, formula 1 & 2, etc.

My citron clown gobies love seaweed sheets.

Your blenny will benefit from microalgae that grows in your tank, so don't overpopulate with snails.

I just started using New Life Spectrum pellets. The small fish formula is great because it starts to sink quickly, but floats around the tank for a couple of minutes before settling on the bottom.
