Bristleworm Rancher

I have read all the threads here and on wetwebmedia about the good and the bad of bristleworms. When I started my tank 9 months ago I actually sought worms to act as detritivores.

Recently I have begun to see more in my refugium and one in my halide lit tank (!!!)

I grabbed a net full of Chaeto from my sump and this is what I came up with :eek1:

I am all for sand stirring but this is an invasion. No predation yet but this looks like it needs control. So now I am beginning to think I need a Bristleworm Predator.....Wrassse, Arrow Crab, etc.

Thoughts?

Then you will no longer have a "Fuge".

Those predators don't stop at worms.

Leave them alone, the mouth they have is like a vacuum, they can't chew anything.

They're numbers are directly controlled by how much food you feed the tank.

To want to kill them all is very irrational, they are harmless and keeping your ammonia down by digesting food that you put in the tank. You should be grateful.

I bought a Six Line Wrasse and an Arrow crab for my bristles. I don't even feed that often or much. But within two days of getting my Wrasse, Copepod population is almost gone. I do seem to notice a few less worms though.
Not going for total eradication, just control.
